This full day tour starts in Kuala Lumpur and brings you to Malacca which was once colonized by the Portuguese, Dutch, British and the Japanese during their occupation over a period of 400 years. Visit the Dutch Square with the pink colored Stadthuys, Christ Church, Clock Tower and the Queen Victoria Fountain. You will also see the Cheng Hoon Teng temple, which is the oldest functioning Chinese temple in Malaysia that was founded in 1645. The Porta De Santiago, the Gate to the Portuguese fortress La Formosa, built in 1511, the St. Paul’s Church where St. Francis Xavier was once buried and many more interesting sites would also be worth a look. After a local lunch, you will have time to stroll around the Jonker street, famous for its Malaccan antiques before returning to your hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Journey by road from Kuala Lumpur to the historic city of Malacca and spend the day exploring this UNESCO World Heritage site. In the morning visit the delightfully named Harmony Street, home to the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, which is the oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia; the Kampung Kling Mosque; and the Hindu Sri Poyyatha Vinayagar Moorthi Temple.

Your next stop will be the city’s historic Square of Malacca that is lined with fine examples of Dutch colonial architecture.

Later this morning your group will head up to the top of the hill to witness the panoramic view over the city, before visiting the cultural Portuguese Square, which plays host to a number of food stalls and restaurants.

You will have the opportunity to sample a traditional Peranakan lunch, which is a unique combination of Malay and Chinese cuisine. The day’s exploration concludes with some time spent wandering along Tun Tan Cheng Lok – a narrow road lined by ancient shop houses before returning back to your hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
